Live Action Göteborg celebrates its five years existence by opening the doors to the Museum of World Culture on Thursday May 27 at 19.00. The festival then continues until Sunday 30 by presenting an international program of high quality. The festival takes place in the evening featuring 20 artists from China, the Philippines, USA, Sweden, Spain, Finland, Germany, France, Great Britain and this years country of honour Canada, who will present more than 35 works. Besides the Museum of World Culture, where the festival will occupy the outdoor and indoor space in the evenings, Live Action Göteborg will also be present at Kungsportsplatsen and Brunnsparken in the afternoon of Friday May 28 and Saturday May 29 starting at 13.00.
The only annual international performance art festival in Sweden started in autumn 2006. SInce then more than a hundred performance artists has been presented from over 23 countries. Live Action Göteborg have given performance art a scene in region of Västra Götaland as well as nationally. With highly acclaimed international artists like Alastair MacLennan, Tanja Mars, Lee Wen, Kurt Johannessen, Roi Vaara and many many others.
Actually Live Action Göteborg starts one day before on Wednesday May 26 with a performance at the Museum of World Culture by the legend from the KLF and the K-Foundation, Bill Drummond, who will make the performance $20.000 we all waited for on April 17 at Club Performance, but which had to be cancelled due to the volcano ash clouds.
