Gallery A50 is a non-profit organisation, and has as its mission to create meetings and to stimulate cooperation between artists of different generations and cultures. But also to democratize the general publics’ access to contemporary art. Gallery A50 was started in 1993 and is a proactive and artist run association.  
Since the start of the festival Live Action Göteborg in 2006, Gallery A50 has focused its actitivies and different projects to the field of performance art. However it is generally active in the field of visual arts.

Gallery A50  is for example co-organiser of the European project Europe-China : Crossover & Exchange which is led by the Chinese Arts Center in Manchester with Infr’Action in Sète, France, the British Council and 501 Arts Space in Chongqing, China as co-organisers. It is a project which will result in a touring art exhibition, a catalogue and seminars in Chongqing, Manchester, Montpellier and Gothenburg, concerning common ground between European and Chinese contemporary art. It receives the support from the Euoropean commissions in the framework of the EU program Cuture 2007-2013 : Strand 1:3
